Over the next few months we will be adding some photos' and information on the T.H.O.R.
Rock Crawling event to be held in May 2010 at the park. Keep checking back in for new updates. We will be working closely
with Jamie of Throttle Happy Off Road to move in a lot of the material for the man made courses that need
to be built for this event. When we do start to get some of the material in and start to put it in place we will update this
page with photo's. The full event info will made available and posted here
early in the new year. We are still working on some of the ins and outs of this event as it is completely new to us at
Fourwinds. Hopefully this is a successful event and we can look to host further events for the Rock Crawling community.
Event News Updates Hi guys its been a few weeks now since I held the first ever Rock Crawl event at the Park and
I have to say I was very impressed and pleased with how everything went. The turn out of spectators was good and everyone
seemed to enjoy the this new type of event. Well we have been hard at work to try and improve on everything and I have had
7 more loads ofrock brought in and a further 6 more loads expected in the near future as well asmyslef going with my trailer
and picking up some loads of smaller rocks for the courses so as the spotters have more rock to work with to help get the
trucks through the courses. I know that a meeting has been set up to be held at the facility with some of the drivers and
course observers / scorers which will help in revueing the course designs and layouts. Hopefully by the end of that meeting
I will be able to have at least three new courses planned out as well as extending and widing the excisting courses. After
watching the trucks on the courses in that first 2 day event I now have a pretty good grasp on what is required
to make it even better for the future. With this all in mind I have already
been able to set a date for an extra one day event which will be held on Sunday July 25th. I have had Jamie check
the date out so as not to conflict with any other events that had been scheduled already both here in Ontario and in the States
so its all looking good. This event as already mentioned will be a one day event and I have already started work on it
trying to involve some of my local MX sponsors to jump across and help sponsor this event and with any luck I should have
some godd news for the event shortly. I am also trying to cross promote your sport with my Ontario Provincial MX event
coming up on July 2nd/3rd & 4th and would like to hear from any of you that may be interested in doing a small demonstration
on Saturday July 3rd evening at the event from around 6:30pm for about an hour to show the MX community what your
sport is all about. If anyone is interested please e-mail me for more details. Well I will update you guys again after the
meeting to let you know how everything went and try to get some pics up very shortly of both the last event and some of the
new courses as they get built and modified.
