2010 Fourwinds MX Park Championship Series
We are starting to put together the 2010 Track Championship Series. There
will be a few changes made for the 2010 series to try to eliminate the couple of issues that we ran into with last years series. - You will now have to be present at the final round of the series to be eleigable to
receive any award wether it be a trophy or money.
- If
you decide to move out of a class and into another class after the first round you will not be able to carry points with
you from one class to the other.
Here's how the series will work. It will run like any other basic championship
with each position being decided on the accumulation of points over the nominated rounds. Top five positions in all
trophy classes will recieve trophies. In the Pro and Intermediate classes there will be a prize fund payout to the top
five positions. I have combined the next classes together (plus 25 - Vet Master - plus 40 - youth) for one prize
fund with the top five positions being paid from that prize fund. For these classes a riders best points finish in
a single class will be used (a rider can not win more than one payout position). In
addition to these awards and prize funds there will be some further awards to be gained. - The
"Champion of Champions" award is for the high points total garnished by a rider (the best two class points
totals for a rider to determine the champion)
- The "Rising
Star" awards. There will be FOUR rising star awards presented for the following - 4-8 yrs, 9-12 yrs, 13-18yrs &
Ladies. The criteria for these awards will include the following - Results, Sportsmanship, Work ethic (on and off the track).
These 4 awards will be decided by a committee of four people that are very diverse and knowledgable in motocross
so it won't be bias.
- The "Robert (Scooby) Hetherington"
award. This is a very special award for me personally to present as it is in memory of my late father. This award is
soley at my descreation and will go to who I consider is deserving of it.
2009
saw Cody Whitefield a kid that showed so much maturity on his out look both on and off the track recieve the Scooby award.
He battled through when things weren't always going his way wether it be with bikes breaking down, not being able to
go to an event for one reason or another like the Walton trans Can even though he was qualified, falling in a moto & getting
right back up and continue and never once did I hear him complain or show attitude other than be annoyed at himself. He
would always talk with the younger kids espially if they wanted help on something and on every practice day before an
event when most others were trying to dial things in for the next days race he would be out there working with
a couple of the Kids on one thing or another. Giving up his only practice time as he had no where to practice where he
lives plus he was always helping out in the family garage after school as they needed him. I believe with the help from this
award for the 2010 season you might start hearing more of the name Cody Whitefield.
Now to the points system. Because the regular points system doesn't award
points from 21st - 40th in a moto I have put together a NEW points sytem that will award points right down to 40th spot. By
doing this it now makes every position worth something creating more competion further down the pack, especially if a
rider has had one of those bad starts or a mishap in a moto making it worthwhile to fight for positions to the finish of the
moto. Here is the points for each position. 1st - 50pts 2nd - 47pts 3rd
- 45pts 4th - 43pts 5th - 41pts 6th -
39pts 7th - 37pts 8th - 35pts 9th -
33pts 10th - 31pts 11th - 30pts A further
1pt reduction per place all the way to 40th spot recieving 1pt.
