Track Championship Rnd 1 Results

I finally got all the results needed from the event so as to work out all the point standings. I have posted all but a few of the standings as the others need a bit more work as they had quilifiers and I need to apply the points for moto 1 to the qualifiers, yes the qualy's carry points just like a normal moto and the final gets scored like a single moto not as double points. I'm basically following the US style of scoring at the Amateur events which should make the points even closer. I will finish working on them tonight and have them posted early in the morning for those of you wishing to check it out. You will find the points table in the Track Championship page at the bottom.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
I have been informed that I will no longer be able to hold regular open practices on Non Event weekends. I was informed of this 10 days ago but have been trying to work things out and unfortuantely if I wish to save the track and still be able to hold events for the coming season and beyond I need to close the regular scheduled practice days. There are a number of circumstances that played into this development one of which being that this year is Native Council Elections and there is the possability that someone running for Chief of Council maybe looking to try to close the place down. There are some other factors that played into this decision which I won't get into.
On every event weekend there will be an Open Practice session on the Saturday from 9:30am - 4pm so you will need to go to the Events page on the website to check for the dates. The next open practice session for bikes will be Saturday June 6th as we have booked an extra event for LDR for that weekend due to them having to cancel the first event of the season.

Friday midnight update

Well its 12:30am and I'm sitting at the gate waiting for the last of the Ottawa and Quebec campers to arrive. There is already 45 campers in for the mornings practice. Worked the track all day today just have one last section to cut in in the morning and it will be in great shape for practice at 9:30. Track is dry on top with nice moisture level underneath will work up well. Weather forecast for saturday is light showers early morning clearing by 12/1pm which saves me from doing any watering. Practice sign in starts at 8:30am gates will open at 7:30am. Remember this is an event weekend and gate fees apply to everyone even if your just here for practice. There will be no quads allowed to practice this week.

LDR Race Event
Just a quick recap of the LDR event yesterday. I worked all night more or less pumping water away from the infield in two spots that were up and on to the track. Once I was able to get that moved I was able to start on the track and I'm glad that we did the work at the end of the season for drainage and raising the track up a bit more in places because it worked and I was able to work the track good all night. The wind definately helped out over night as I ripped the track open to allow the air to dry it a bit. When the light came at 5am I was able to see that with the exception of two spots which I needed to skim some dirt off that the track was in great condition for racing. Basically the track for practice was like it had been over watered just and by the end of practice the the track was perfect for racing with some really good lines and ruts in corners. To all of those that believed that it would be good to race and showed up thank you and thank you to LDR staff for keeping the racing running smoothly as we had everything finished by 4:30pm.

11pm Saturday Night
I have pumped off a lot of the interior water that I needed to and have just ripped the track wide open as the wind is blowing strong and should alow the track to be good for the morning. Obviously its dark so I can't really tell as of now what the dirt is like so watch for the live update from the track at around 6am to be posted on here. The weather for sunday is clear and sunny with a temperature of 13 degrees so that should make for a good day.
I had a few people call and ask me about wether or not there was a day pass needed for the event, I haven't been able to talk to LDR's directors yet but will first chance I get in the morning and will post it with my next update. I'm thinking it may well be a possability but like I said i will ask and post.

LDR Event Sunday May 10th
We are sitting waiting for all rain to clear.  We will be pumping the excess water from the infield to the back of the property later tonight.  The track itself is not in bad condition.  Once the water is pumped away from the infield and I'm positive there's no more rain, I will start to work on the track and continue working through the night to get it ready. As long as there's no more serious rain storms, I am 75% sure that I can get the track ready to race by 9:00 am in the morning.  The forcast for tomorrow is sunny with cloudy periods, no rain which should allow the track to be good for racing.  Keep watching for further updates or check www.ldrmc.org.  If unsure check before you leave in the morning.

This weekend 9th & 10th May

I went in on Monday and Tuesday and completely revamped the track putting alot of fresh new dirt on the track raising areas up and fixing some other stuff I even added something new nothing much but just a bit of a change. As of last night the track was as dry as bone and needed some moisture so with the pending chance of showers it could save me from watering a lot. On the subject of watering I just purchased a new water truck and its at Doug Wrights being given the once over and having the deck swaped over from the old white water truck from the track. It will be up and running for next week in time for the CMRC qualifier.
Saturday is our normal open practice from 10:30am - 4:30pm and it sounds like it could be busy again this week as LDR are back for an event Sunday. Gates open today at 4pm for people wishing to stay over for the weekend.

Track Conditions for Saturday Practice
Saturday Practice is Open for both bikes and Quads. I will be running 15 minute sessions (Big Wheel Bikes - Small Wheel Bikes - Quads) rotating in that order. Sign in will open at 10am and the track will open for practice at 10:30/10:45am and run until 5pm.
I left the track at 8pm and hadn't got any rain since last night early morning. The track was in great shape as i had pre prepped it yesterday knowing the rain was coming and I will rip the track and re face the jumps first thing in the morning like I have the last two weeks. I would think that the track will be in identicle shape as last saturdays practice moist and tacky in the morning.
