This weekend
This weekend we will have our normal OPEN Practice Saturday with sessions for bikes and Quads alternating on the track. We  would like to welcome Monis Salib of the CMRC Quad series as he has organised a Mini Quad School (starting at 10am on th New Mini Track and is free to all the mini quad riders), Swap Meet and Free BBQ (saturday evening) for all the Quad riders staying over to Practice on Sunday. This is the season opener for the Quad riders to get out and ride and meet everyone and find out all what is going on with the New Quad series for this year and from what I have read and been told it looks like its going to be a big year with a lot of exposure for the Quads. Sunday will be a Quad only practice and I will be setting the track up saturday night just like I did for last seasons event to suite the Quads. If your a Quad rider and you want more info and to find out what the series is all about you should come out and talk with Monis and everyone involved in the series and see what its like to ride when the track is set up for just the quads.
Sunday will be 1/2 price gate fee of $5 per person (anyone at the park after 6:30pm saturday night will be charged for gate fee) and there will be no camping fees charged. Practice will start at 10 am - 4:30pm and if need be sessions will be set up to split up bike size and abillity levels. Practice fee is $25 per rider.

Up and Down weekend
Well the weekend started out great with the LDR MX School with Kyle Keast, Liam O'Farrell, Richard Grey, Jim Byrne and Lee Moffat giving instruction on different riding techniques to the 100+ riders that showed up for it. Helping with organising riders was Mitch McColl, Hobdon Jr, Hobdon Snr, Bennett Amyotte and a few others that the names have slipped my memory at present. I want to thank all for helping out and to the instructors as the school went off with out a hitch and seemed to be well enjoyed by all.
Regular open practice got under way around noon and we had to start it with split sessions due to the numbers of riders there. The track was in great shape even better than last week and everyone seemed to enjoy the new changes and the good dirt to practice in.
Just after practice finished we got hit pretty hard with a thunder storm for about 30mins and then it rain on and off until midnight. I got back onto the track at 5:30am to see what we could do and was confident that we could sort it out and get the track into shape to ride. I started scraping the track while Tyler jumped on the tractor and started ripping everywhere I had scrapped. By 9am we had the track into decent shape to race on but the rain started in again and LDR decided to let the members take a vote as to wether or not to go ahead and race. The vote went to cancel the event which was disapointing but understandable as it was the first event of the season. Hopefully in two weeks time when LDR are back for the second event of the season at Fourwinds that weather is kinder and we get to host a great event.

Looks like great weather for this weekend !!!!!!!!

Well it looks like it will be really nice weather for this weekends practice and LDR season opener. We have LDR pre season MX School with Kyle Keast - Liam O'Farrell - Richard Grey as the guest instructors not a bad line up of top riders to learn from. If your looking to get some really good lessons in and are thinking about somewhere to race on sunday then come on out as I think its going to be a really good weekend of riding.
On Saturday the school will start at 9am - 2pm with Open Practice starting at 12 noon just like last saturday. The cut version of the track will be used for the first 2 hrs of open practice while the school finishes off on the back section. Then I will open the full track up for practice until 4:30/5pm then close it down to prep it for Sundays race event.
Sunday the gates will open again at 6:30am and racing should get going around 9am i would think seeing as its the first race of the season for LDR and they're expecting a good crowd.
For all you LDR members I will have the gates open at 4pm friday if you are thinking of coming to stay over for the school on saturday morning. Practice fee for saturday's open practice is $25 and the gate fee for the event is $5 per person. If you need any other info please e-mail me from the link on the website and I will get back to you. I now have my lap top set up with wireless internet so i can update from the track and return e-mails.
Just a reminder we will have our new caterer M.O.M.S onsight for early breakfast and coffee (Tims) as well as a great selection of food for lunch. To get an idea of what will be served and pricing click on the Event Catering link at the side and see what they are offering.

Opening weekend

Well we got the track open for the first practice of the year on saturday and it was a great day to ride. We started with the Kyle Keast MX School in the morning at 9:30am with 20 riders everyone seemed to enjoy the lessons with Kyle and hopefully they learned a lot. Kyle and I both want to thank you for showing up and participating his first MX school of the season, if you are interested in more lessons keep watching on this website and on Kyles for further details and dates on upcoming schools later in the season.
For all of you that attended I have talked with Brennan Shortall (photographer) that was there doing all the shooting and he had this to say -

Hey Guys,   Well, I have spent the better part of the today going through the pics and have started the gallery on the website.  I picked about 20 or so pics from various points of the day and edited them the way I normally would and made the gallery from those. I will have the unedited versions in a separate gallery so people can pick and chose and I can edit from there.  I took the better part of 1800 pics – so I will let the people choose what ones to edit! I want your input on the pics and how you think my presence was yesterday. I tried NOT to be in the way! http://www.pbase.com/fordguy/keast

Thanks Brennan and hopefully you guys will go check out those photo's I have already and they look brilliant.

We then had open practice starting on the cut version of the track at 12 noon. The pit area had grown quite a bit with riders ready to hit the track for the first time this season so i was hoping that everyone would use they're heads and take it easy for the first few laps which they all seemed to do. Kyles school finished at 1:30pm and I then opened the back section of the track as well and split the practices into two grouops small wheel and big wheel.
I talked to quite a few people and everyone seemed to think the changes that Jamey and I had made were excellent and that the track was in great shape. I want to thank everyone that came out and hopefully you all had fun. If you have any comments drop me and e-mail.

Great weather Time to Ride !!!!!!!!!
Well the weather has finally started to co operate even though the over night temps for the last week was still freezing the ground and not allowing for much drying. Yesterday and today though have been perfect with sun and wind with the aid of the pumps we will have the track open and ready for pracitice this saturday 12-5pm with the Kyle Keast school in the morning. Oh and if anyone is interested there is one more spot available.
Jamey and I have been workiing on the dozers gettting everything into shape and will continue for the next three days to prep the track. There is some new stuff for this season we've changed a few things up like changing corners (two distinct lines)(off camber), raising and lengthed the old table top in the middle, new rythm section, moved the back double about forty feet and made the corner a wide long sweeper prior things like that and you guys know me I'm probably not finished tinkering with it. Anyhow lets hope this season is much better with the weather and we can get alot more riding and racing in. SEE YOU AT THE TRACK.

Not open this weekend
Unfortunately we are not going to be able to get the facility open this weekend. Myself and Jamie were there today with some equipment and it is just not dry enough to work with at the moment. Because the rain was then covered by the snow on monday and tuesday it has allowed the ground to become very soft and wet. I was hoping that we would have been able to do something with it but it just isn't going to happen and we will go back at it on monday morning hopefully with the good weather it will then be dry enough to fix it all up and sort it out for the 18th.
The good thing is when we walked out around the track all the drainage that we did at the end of last season is doing its job and allowing the excess water to drain out and away from the track. I will post up again on monday evening after we've been in there and checked it all out.

Weather !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well the weather has turned a bit for the worse over the last five days. With the 40mils of rain we got on friday and saturday and now the rain and snow monday and today things couldn't be any worse for us to try and get in to the track with the heavey equipment to get the track into shape. The weather is supposed to change as of tomorrow and I'm still hopeful I can get in there to do the necessary work to get the track open for this saturday. Keep checking in on the website for updates this week on wether or not I can the track open for saturday.
